Ecuador is One of the Best Places to Retire
Posted on 08 May 2016
Once again, Ecuador has been ranked as one of the best places to retire in the world in 2016. This is according to International Living magazine, which published its annual report at the beginning of this year.
Ecuador finished with an average score of 92.4 (out of a possible 100), which was second to only Panama at 93.5. But this isn't an anomaly. Ecuador was ranked the number one affordable retirement destination for the previous five years.
International Living looks at ten main categories when doing their assessment. These include:
- Buying and renting property
- Benefits and discounts
- Visas and residency requirements
- Cost of living
- Fitting in
- Entertainment and amenities
- Healthy lifestyle
- Climate (of course)
Although a lot of people wouldn't consider retiring in Ecuador, it is becoming more popular and attractive for North Americans and Europeans. You can read the full article here.
